Elevated Systems LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the ForkCast mobile application ("ForkCast" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use ForkCast. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we collect:

  • Name: Your first and last name (or the name you choose to share via Apple)
  • Email address: Your email or Apple's private relay email address
  • User ID: A unique identifier for your account

Health & Nutrition Data

To provide personalized meal planning, we collect information you provide, including:

  • Dietary preferences and restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free)
  • Food allergies and allergens
  • Health goals (e.g., calorie targets, macronutrient goals)
  • Household size and budget preferences
  • Food log entries and nutritional tracking data
  • Body metrics you choose to provide (weight, activity level)

App Usage Data

As you use ForkCast, we store data you create within the App:

  • Meal plans and saved recipes
  • Grocery/shopping lists
  • Pantry inventory
  • Cooking streaks and activity
  • Budget and expense tracking entries
  • AI chat conversation history

Calendar Data

With your explicit permission, ForkCast accesses your Apple Calendar to sync meal plan events (breakfast, lunch, and dinner reminders). We only read and write ForkCast-related calendar events and do not access or store any other calendar data.

Purchase Information

If you subscribe to ForkCast Premium, Apple processes all payments. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but do not collect or store your payment card details, bank account information, or Apple ID password.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate and improve ForkCast:

  • Meal Planning: Generate personalized meal plans based on your dietary needs, goals, and preferences
  • AI Features: Provide AI-powered recipe suggestions, nutritional advice, and meal planning assistance
  • Cloud Sync: Sync your data across sessions so your meal plans, food log, expenses, and preferences are preserved
  • Calendar Integration: Create and manage meal reminder events in your Apple Calendar
  • Subscription Management: Verify your subscription status and provide access to premium features
  • App Improvement: Understand usage patterns to improve app features and fix issues

4. Data Storage & Security

Local Storage

Most of your data is stored locally on your device. This means your meal plans, recipes, pantry items, and preferences are available even without an internet connection.

Cloud Sync

When you are signed in, select data is synced to our secure cloud servers (powered by Supabase) to enable backup and data persistence. Cloud-synced data includes your food log, expenses, AI chat history, and cooking streaks. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored with row-level security, meaning only you can access your own data.

Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), row-level security policies on our database, and secure authentication via Sign in with Apple. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Services

ForkCast uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple Sign In: For secure authentication without passwords
  • Apple StoreKit: For processing in-app subscription purchases
  • Supabase: For secure cloud data storage and sync
  • OpenAI API: To power AI meal planning suggestions and chat features. Conversation data sent to OpenAI is used solely to generate responses and is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks. We do not share your data with data brokers.

6. Tracking & Analytics

ForkCast does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking. We do not participate in any ad networks. The App's privacy nutrition label on the App Store accurately reflects our minimal data collection practices.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: All your data is visible within the App at any time
  • Correction: You can edit your profile, preferences, and all entries directly in the App
  • Deletion: You can delete individual items (meals, recipes, log entries) or request full account deletion by contacting us
  • Calendar Permission: You can grant or revoke calendar access at any time in your device Settings
  • Subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings

To request a complete export or deletion of all data associated with your account, email us at the address below. We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Data Retention

Your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the App or clear the data. Cloud-synced data is retained as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove all associated data from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

ForkCast is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email address below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of ForkCast after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
