Street Dex Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Elevated Systems LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Street Dex (“the App”). Street Dex is a car-spotting game: you photograph cars you see, the App identifies them, and they fill a garage that is yours. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what that involves handling, and what we do and do not do with it. By using Street Dex, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Your Account

When you first open Street Dex an anonymous account is created for you. It has no name, no email and no password — it exists so your garage can be saved and so purchases can be tied to you. Account setup is part of onboarding before you enter the game.

During account setup, you link Sign in with Apple. We receive your Apple user identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your email address. We use this to authenticate you and restore your account on another device. Your display name, friend code, friend requests, relationships, standings and race results support the social features. We do not email you marketing.

3. Photographs

When you catch a car, the photo you take is used to identify it and is then stored on your device. Catch photos are sent to our recognition service for identification, but are not stored as part of your cloud garage backup. Other players do not receive your catch photo through the map or friends features. You may choose to export a share card to another app.

We attempt to blur licence plates on your device. Automatic plate detection can miss a plate. Check your photo before choosing to share or submit it.

When photographs leave your device:

  • Identification: the photo is sent to our recognition service, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude model to work out what the car is. It is used to identify the vehicle. Anthropic processes API data under its applicable commercial privacy and retention terms.
  • Car requests: if you ask us to add a car we do not have, the photo you attach is uploaded so we can identify the vehicle and add it. Only you and we can access it.

4. Location

Location permission is optional. Nearby-map and distance-based racing features may be limited without it. Where you grant it, your location is used two ways, and the difference matters:

  • Private: your exact coordinate is stored on your device with the catch, so months later you can see precisely where you were standing. Current versions exclude the exact catch location from garage backups. Earlier versions may have included it in your private account backup; account deletion removes those records. It is not shown to other players.
  • Public: if you share a catch to the map, the position is first snapped to the nearest public road, and only that snapped point is published. A catch made on a driveway is intended to publish a nearby road point. Road snapping is approximate and is not a guarantee of anonymity, especially when you are already on a road. You can turn off map sharing in Settings.

5. What We Store On Our Servers

  • Your garage: which cars you caught, when, their score, and any region information. Private garage backups are restricted to your account. Friends can see your display name, standings and the vehicle details and results associated with a challenge.
  • Shared sightings: the car, its rarity, the road-snapped point and the time. Visible to other signed-in players. Contains no photo; the published location is the road-snapped point.
  • Car requests: the car you described, the photo you attached, and why identification failed. Readable only by you and us.
  • Purchases: handled by RevenueCat and Apple. We never see or store your payment details.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to count which screens are reached — how many people finish onboarding, how many see the paywall — so we know which parts of the App need improving. This is product usage associated with an app or account identifier. Earlier app versions also use AppsFlyer for install, onboarding, paywall and purchase attribution, with IDFA collection and user-level advertising partner sharing disabled in that configuration. The updated direct measurement flow described below replaces AppsFlyer in supported versions. Apple may provide aggregated campaign attribution through SKAdNetwork.

Optional advertising measurement

In versions offering Settings → Advertising privacy, advertising measurement is optional and requires both your explicit in-app choice and Apple's tracking permission. Declining does not affect your coins, purchases, subscription, garage or access to the app. This flow does not ask for your age or date of birth. Coin and token purchases are excluded from the direct advertising reporting paths.

With both permissions, RevenueCat supplies subscription events to our Firebase backend, which checks your current permission before sending eligible trial starts, new subscriptions and renewals to Meta. The Meta SDK reports app installs and app opens, and the TikTok App Events SDK separately reports eligible app installs, app opens, trial starts and verified new subscriptions, both only while the app is active and permission remains valid. Automatic purchase observation is disabled in the Meta SDK, and automatic purchase observation and enhanced data postback are disabled in this TikTok flow.

Measurement data includes product, amount, currency, event time and event reference, Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), and app/device and iOS information. Meta and TikTok network requests also expose your IP address. Firebase stores your choice, its version and expiry, a first-party installation reference and the advertising identifier needed to enforce it. If you allow measurement, our subscription provider RevenueCat also stores your advertising identifier, device vendor identifier (IDFV), IP address, iOS version and Meta's anonymous app identifier with your subscription record, so a purchase can be matched to the ad that led to it. We do not send car photos, precise location, email addresses or phone numbers through this advertising measurement flow.

Permission stays in effect until you withdraw it, for at most 400 days. Each time you open the App we re-check Apple's tracking permission, and turning it off in iPhone Settings withdraws your choice. Subscription renewals while permission is in effect may be shared. Purchases from before your permission are not replayed later.

You can withdraw in Settings → Advertising privacy. Online withdrawal removes identifiers from the consent record when the server acknowledges it. If you are offline, the app saves your request and retries when reopened online; server-side sharing may continue until the request arrives or permission expires. The app reports synchronization failures. Withdrawal cannot recall information already sent or requests already in flight.

Expired permission blocks new sending immediately; scheduled cleanup removes its identifiers. We retain a revision record to prevent stale requests from restoring permission. A delivery ledger prevents duplicate purchase reporting. Account links in that ledger are scheduled for removal after 30 days; minimal hashed event/status records remain without advertising identifiers or purchase payloads. Necessary account, Friends and purchase fulfillment functions and first-party product analytics are separate from this optional choice.

Source labels and attribution

We label each subscriber with how they likely found us, such as Meta, TikTok, Apple Search Ads, Referral, TikTok Organic, Instagram or Organic, and store the label with your subscription record at RevenueCat. Meta and TikTok labels are applied only if you allowed advertising measurement. If you allowed it and installed from a Meta ad, we also keep that ad's campaign, ad set and ad identifiers.

If you install after an Apple Search Ads ad, Apple provides the App a privacy-preserving attribution token. RevenueCat exchanges it with Apple to learn which campaign and keyword led to your install. The token carries no advertising identifier and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. This does not depend on your advertising measurement choice.

During setup we ask how you found Street Dex; skipping is fine. Your answer is stored with your subscription record and used to understand which channels work. If you add a friend by code shortly after creating your account, we keep which friend's code you used, only to label how your subscription was acquired.

7. Third-Party Services

  • Google Firebase: accounts, database, file storage, analytics
  • Anthropic: vehicle identification from your photo
  • RevenueCat and Apple: subscriptions and purchases, subscription source labels, and Apple Search Ads attribution
  • AppsFlyer: attribution in earlier app versions
  • Meta and TikTok: optional advertising measurement as described above
  • OpenStreetMap: road data used to snap map pins. Only a rough map area is requested; your catches are never sent to them.

We do not sell your personal information. The service providers above process information to operate the app and measure its use. Supported versions share advertising measurement data with Meta and TikTok only under the optional flow above. Depending on your jurisdiction, advertising disclosures may be considered sharing for targeted advertising; you can decline or withdraw this choice.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the App, under Settings → Account → Delete account. After confirmation and, for Apple-linked accounts, Apple verification, a server cleanup removes your garage backup, shared sightings, car requests and their uploaded photos, friend relationships, challenges and account. The app also clears its saved catch photos and local profile. A minimal deletion marker is retained to prevent an old session from recreating deleted data. Deletion cannot be undone and does not cancel an Apple subscription; use Manage Subscription to cancel renewal. Apple may retain transaction records. For requests concerning analytics or other retained service-provider data, contact support@elevatedagency.org.

9. Children's Privacy

Street Dex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below or use the in-app account management features.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
