Cortisol+ Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Cortisol+ (“the App”), developed by Elevated Systems LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Cortisol+ is a health and wellness application that estimates stress levels by analyzing biometric data from your Apple Watch and Apple Health. The App provides:

  • Cortisol level estimation using a 10-factor biometric algorithm
  • Historical stress level tracking and trends
  • Optional high-stress notifications
  • Guided breathing exercises
  • Apple Watch companion app

3. Medical Disclaimer

CORTISOL+ IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND IS NOT INTENDED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT, CURE, OR PREVENT ANY DISEASE OR MEDICAL CONDITION.

  • The stress level estimates provided by the App are approximations based on biometric patterns and should not be considered medical advice
  • The App does not directly measure cortisol levels — it estimates them from secondary biometric indicators
  • Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns
  • Do not make medical decisions based solely on information from this App
  • If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately

4. Account & Authentication

  • You must sign in with your Apple ID to use the App
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple ID
  • You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the App's Settings

5. Subscription & Payment

Free Trial

  • New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features
  • The trial begins upon your first sign-in
  • No payment is required to start the trial

Subscription

  • After the trial expires, a monthly subscription of $4.99/month is required to analyze new stress levels
  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Apple's App Store
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings

After Expiration

If your trial expires and you do not subscribe, you can still view your most recent reading but cannot analyze new stress levels.

6. Health Data & Privacy

  • The App requires access to Apple HealthKit data to function
  • All health data is processed and stored entirely on your device
  • We never transmit your health data to external servers
  • You can revoke health data access at any time in iOS Settings

7. Apple Watch Requirement

Cortisol+ requires an Apple Watch to collect biometric data. Without an Apple Watch providing health data to Apple Health, the App will not be able to generate stress level estimates. The accuracy and availability of estimates depend on the sensors available on your specific Apple Watch model.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or security measures
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its algorithm, design, graphics, code, and content, is the property of Elevated Systems LLC and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ELEVATED SYSTEMS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES RELATED TO HEALTH DECISIONS MADE BASED ON THE APP'S ESTIMATES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT STRESS LEVEL ESTIMATES WILL BE ACCURATE. THE ACCURACY OF ESTIMATES DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY AND AVAILABILITY OF BIOMETRIC DATA FROM YOUR APPLE WATCH.

12. Termination

  • You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases and locally stored data may be deleted

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms here and updating the “Effective Date.” Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
